Post Graduate Program in Management and Entrepreneurship [PGPME]

PROGRAM:

  • Post Graduate Program in Management and Entrepreneurship [PGPME]

TARGET GROUPS:

  • Working executives with a minimum of 50% at graduation level and  working in various functional areas such as Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply chain management, R&D, finance and accounts, personnel and administration, purchase etc
  • Participants and their organizations feel that the former urgently need cross-functional management skills as well as strategic perspective in order to improve their comprehensive understanding of business, including the internal and the external drivers,  and deliver far higher level of performance.
  • Entrepreneurs  with a minimum of 50% at graduation level
  • Ideal experience: 6+ years
  • Self confident and ambitious individuals who are keen to GET READY ahead of the unfolding business challenges.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  • To help the participants get ready with critical business and management capabilities to become a total business manager
  • To prepare the participants in facing the competitive world of business and make them emotionally strong to face challenges of the market place.
  • To develop an ambition in each participant to do well in managerial or business career [and in the process make  their organizations successful] and provide  him/her with the required  intellectual and emotional inputs necessary to pursue that ambition.

PROGRAM DESIGN [ 150 Hours of LIVE contact with Faculty spread over 40 weeks plus Dissertation on either [A] STRATEGY AND LEADERSHIP or [B] preparation of a NEW BUSINESS PLAN [50 HOURS OF WORK]:

DESIGN

  • 10 AREAS with each area containing several subjects [listed below] – LIVE Contact with faculty: 150 hrs
  • One dissertation  on either strategy and leadership or preparation of a NEW BUSINESS PLAN – 50 hours
  • Total 150   hours of LIVE contact with faculty over the DIGITAL network, all 10 AREAS put together plus 50 hours of dissertation = 200 hrs
  • Deployment of  LIVE, 2 Way Interactive,  DIGITAL [web conferencing ] platform for conducting 150 hours of formal sessions.
  • Availability of recorded versions in case some sessions are missed
  • Up to three sessions per week , each @2.5 hours, spread over 30-35  weeks, normally on Saturday afternoon [4 to 930pm] and Monday evening [6 to 830pm]

Project: Dissertation

Participants will be assigned individual projects. The credit will be equivalent to three theoretical subjects. Evaluation will be based on work-in-progress (25% by supervisor), and final Dissertation submitted (75%)

Evaluation and Grading

EVALUATION [Area-wise where an AREA comprises several subjects]:

  • Attendance in Live Digital classes – 10 %[ minimum 60% attendance needed to qualify for certification; additional term papers to be written in case of shortfall against the minimum % needed]
  • Class participation – 15% [ minimum 60% CP  needed to qualify for certification; additional term papers to be written in case of shortfall against the minimum % needed]
  • Surprise Quiz: 15%
  • Term Paper [ 1 number]  : 15 %  - ALL COMPANY SPECIFIC
  • Group Presentation: 15%
  • End term examination: 30%  

GRADING:

  • A+, A, A-, B+, B, B- , C and F [9 point scale with A+ = 9, C =3 and F = 0]
  • CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) for all 11 Areas  put together

ADMISSION PROCESS:

  • Profile as given under Target Group
  • Statement of Purpose stating intention to become a Future manager and/or an entrepreneur
  • Perspective and Aptitude Test [PAT] for assessing [a] the extent of sensitivity to general environment, [b] written communication skill and [c] attitude and orientation towards achieving success
  • Personal interview  for assessing  intent to become  a future manager and/or an entrepreneur

CERTIFICATION

To be awarded the certificate titled POST GRADUATE PROGRAM IN MANAGEMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP [PGPME] by The Strategy Academy Centre for Advanced Studies [TSACAS], subject to meeting the following requirements:

  • Successful completion of PGPME [Minimum CGPA: 4.0 [B MINUS], Maximum F: 2]
  • Attendance  and Class Participation of  60% in the live  classes [additional term  papers to be written to make up any  shortfall against the minimum  required [i.e. 60%]  subject to the  limit  of maximum shortfall set thereof]

Note 1:

In place of the above referred PGPME program, participants can join the POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP [PGDME] which will be jointly certified by Jadavpur University School of Education Technology and The Strategy Academy Centre for Advanced Studies [TSACAS], subject to meeting the following requirements:

  • Attendance  and Class Participation of  60% in the live  classes [additional term  papers to be written to make up any  shortfall against the minimum  required [i.e. 60%]  subject to the  limit  of maximum shortfall set thereof]
  • Visit the Jadavpur University School of Education Technology campus in Calcutta for 5 days and attend some select live face to face sessions and meet other participants of the program there  towards the end of the 150 hours of LIVE sessions and before starting the work on dissertation
  • Successful completion of  PGDME Program requirements [Minimum CGPA: 4.0 [B MINUS], Maximum F: 2] – which are same as PGPME
  • Pay a fee of Rs  90000/- + ST  [ in place of 75000/- + ST for PGPME]  plus examination fee as per university rule.

NOTE - 2:

  • Participants of  Program  will be able to upgrade their above certificate to POST GRADUATE PROGRAM IN MANAGEMENT, STRATEGY  AND LEADERSHIP [PGPMSL] or  POST GRADUATE PROGRAM IN STRATEGY, INNOVATION AND MANAGEMENT OF START UPS [PGPSIMS]  conducted by The Strategy Academy Centre for Advanced Studies [TSACAS] on meeting certain easy-to-satisfy conditions.

FEES:

  • USD 1800  i.e. INR 75000/- + Service Tax for PGPME
  • USD 2200 i.e. INR 90000/- + Service Tax + examination fee if the applicant opts for the  PGDME program [as mentioned above] which will be jointly certified by Jadavpur University School of Education Technology and TSACAS

HOW TO APPLY – Four key steps

  • Please write to ccg6@thestrategyacademy.org, ccg1@thestrategyacademy.org along with CV; the CV should have complete academic details and work experience and must also contain a  statement of purpose.
  • Have a telephonic discussion with the Communication and Counselling Group of the Academy on program details and whether  the profile of the applicant and his/her career aspirations match with the objectives of the program.
  • Complete the Perspective and Aptitude Test [PAT]
  • Personal discussion over telephone with the Academy’s Operations Management Group.
  • If the above steps are successfully completed, deposit the fees at least 14 days before the start of the FIRST session

NOTE: If an applicant wishes, he/she can attend a LIVE Digital demo session. Such a participation will help the applicant get a feel of the web conferencing platform. For this, he/she should speak to the Communication and Counselling Group of the Academy and discuss the date and time most convenient to him/her for attending the session.
