Executive Program in Strategic Management [EPSM]

TARGET GROUPS:

  • MBAs/PGDMs with at least  3  years of experience and a  minimum of 50% at graduation level
  • Individuals who had  successfully completed any Long Duration Program offered by leading business schools such as IIMs, XLRI etc with at least 5 years of experience and a  minimum of 50% at graduation level 
  • Senior managers, without any formal MBA/PGDM, having 8+ years of experience

  • Busy, self confident and ambitious individuals willing to take charge of his/her destiny

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  • To prepare the participants to become a business strategist or a strategic management consultant or a manager working in the area of strategy or a manager turned  entrepreneur
  • To impart strategic management skills required to become a future business leader

PROGRAM DESIGN [100 Hours of LIVE contact with Faculty spread over 18-20 weeks]:

DESIGN

Two Modules – I & II

  • MODULE I:  Analysis of Business Context – A GENERAL MANAGEMENT perspective -30 hours of contact with faculty
  • MODULE II: Strategic Management – 5 FOCUS AREAS -70 hours of contact with faculty

KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DESIGN [100 Hours of contact with Faculty and Academic Support Group Members spread over 30-36 weeks]:

  1. Two MODULES [as described above]
  2. Spread over 5 to 6  terms of  8-10 weeks each
  3. Deployment of  LIVE, 2 Way Interactive,  DIGITAL [web conferencing ] platform for conducting 108 hours of formal sessions.
  4. Availability of recorded versions in case somebody misses a session Up to three sessions per week , each @2.5 hours, spread over 18-24  weeks, normally on Saturday afternoon [4 to 930pm] and Monday evening [6 to 830pm]

CONTENT

  • MODULE I: ANALYSIS OF BUSINESS CONTEXT – A GENERAL MANAGEMENT  PERSPECTIVE – 10  Sessions @ 2.5 hours =   25 hours + 5 hrs of   Q&A= total 30 hrs  - Weight: 0.27
  • MODULE II: STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT –  Session: 26 @ 2.5 hrs= 65 hrs + 5 hrs of  Q&A = 70 HOURS  - Weight: 0.73
    • Strategy and Strategy Development Process [SSDP] -– 6 sessions – 15 hours +  1 hours of  Q&A = 16 Hours –  Weight : 0.17
    • Strategy Execution and Management of Change [SEMC]-– 4 sessions – 10 hours +  1 hours of  Q&A = 11 Hours – Weight : 0.11
    • Innovation [INN] -– 6 sessions – 15 hours +  1 hours of  Q&A = 16 Hours –  Weight : 0.17
    • Entrepreneurship and  New Business Plan [ENBP] -– 6 sessions – 15 hours +  1 hours of  Q&A = 16 Hours –  Weight : 0.17
    • Leadership [LEAD] -– 4 sessions – 10 hours +  1 hours of  Q&A = 11 Hours – Weight: 0.11

EVALUATION [Different system of evaluation under two modules]

MODULE I:

  • Attendance in Live Digital classes – 20 %[ minimum 75% attendance needed to qualify for certification]
  • Class participation – 30%
  • Term Papers: 2 Number – 50%

MODULE II:

  • Attendance in Live Digital classes – 10 %[ minimum 75% attendance needed to qualify for certification]
  • Class participation – 15%
  • Offline discussions with Academic Support Group members – 10%
  • Surprise Quiz: 15%
  • Group Presentation: 10
  • Term Paper – 1  : 15 %
  • End term examination: 25%

GRADING:

  • 5 levels of  Qualitative Grading : Excellent, Good, Average, Fair  and Poor
  • Concept of Cumulative Average Score [CAS] for all 8 AREAS  put together [Maximum: 5.0; Minimum for successful completion: 2.0]
  • Maximum 2 Poor  allowed

ADMISSION PROCESS:

  • Profile as given under Target Group
  • Statement of Purpose stating intention to become a Future manager and/or an entrepreneur
  • Perspective and Aptitude Test [PAT]  for assessing [a] the  extent of sensitivity to general environment, [b] written communication skill and  [c] attitude and orientation towards achieving success
  • Personal interview  for assessing  intent to become  a future manager and/or an entrepreneur

CERTIFICATION

To be awarded EXECUTIVE PROGRAM IN STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT [EPSM] by The Strategy Academy Centre for Advanced Studies [TSACAS], subject to meeting the following requirements:

  • Attendance of 75% in the live digital classes
  • Successful completion of  all AREAS  as per evaluation and grading system described above
  • Minimum CAS for successful completion: 2.0 ; Maximum 2 Poor  allowed

NOTE:

  • It is an autonomous PROFESSIONAL certificate.
  • The Academy has a well documented policy that spells out the requirements of SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION.   Failure to meet all conditions will lead either to “INCOMPLETE” status [which can be converted to SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION certificate  on meeting the residual requirements within the stipulated time period allowed under the Academic policy]  or  “PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATE’ [applicable to those participants who could not even meet the requirements of “INCOMPLETE” status within the formal duration of the program]

FEES:

  • USD 1600 [INR 65000/- + Service Tax]

HOW TO APPLY – Four key steps

  • Please write to ccg1@thestrategyacademy.org along with CV; the CV should have complete academic details and work experience and must also contain a statement of purpose.
  • Have a telephonic discussion with the Communication and Counselling Group of the Academy on program details and whether  the profile of the applicant and his/her career aspirations match with the objectives of the program.
  • Complete the Perspective and Aptitude Test [PAT].
  • Personal discussion over telephone with the Academy’s Operations Management Group.
  • If the above steps are successfully completed, deposit the fees at least 14 days before the start of the FIRST session

NOTE: If an applicant wishes, he/she can attend a LIVE Digital demo session. Such a participation will help the applicant get a feel of the web conferencing platform. For this, he/she should speak to the Communication and Counselling Group of the Academy and discuss the date and time most convenient to him/her for attending the session.
