CORPORATE INTRAPRENEUR PROGRAM (PGPSIMS)

PROGRAM:

  • [Leading to the title of Post Graduate Program in Strategy, Innovation and Management of Start UPs - PGPSIMS] TRACK II [For holders of MBA/PGDM]

TARGET GROUPS

  • New Business Development Managers with 5+ years of experience, with or without an MBA/PGDM
  • Business persons with  some experience of  running their own businesses and a  minimum of 50% at graduation level, with or without an MBA/PGDM/any long duration formal education in management
  • Functional managers planning a career transition to New Business Development within their own organization, with a minimum of 50% at graduation level
  • Working Executives and senior managers having plans to set up their own enterprises, with a  minimum of 50% at graduation level, with or without an MBA/PGDM/any long duration formal education in management
  • Members of family businesses without any experience
  • Busy, self confident and ambitious individuals willing to take charge of his/her destiny

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  • To assist existing business persons in acquiring professional business management knowledge as well as help them find ways to grow their existing businesses..
  • To prepare the non-business participants to become OWNERS of their own business.
  • To transform managers working in different functional areas to become New Business Development Managers to drive growth of their organizations in newer fields.
  • To impart strategic and general management skills required to translate ideas into wealth creating actions

PROGRAM DESIGN

FOUR Main Modules:

  • General Management Module [23 Subjects @ 2.5 hours]
  • Strategic Management Module [ 70 Hours]
  • Contemporary Practice and Research Issues [CPRI] In Strategy, Execution,   Innovation, Entrepreneurship And Leadership [22 Hours of Live contact with faculty and Academic Support Group members]
  • Dissertation: 50 hours

TOTAL HOURS

All 4 modules together = 200 HRS [150 hours of Live contact with faculty plus 50 hours of dissertation

KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DESIGN:

  • 4  MODULES spread over  45-48  weeks each
  • MODULE I will have 23 topics, spanning all areas of management,  to be selected based on discussion with the Academy
  • MODULE II & III  comprise  the core  strategy and leadership subjects
  • Module IV will have only the Dissertation which will focus on NEW BUSINESS PLAN. There will be a  faculty guide for each participant to guide the dissertation phase.
  • Deployment of  LIVE, 2 Way Interactive,  DIGITAL [web conferencing ] platform for conducting 225 hours of formal sessions [excluding dissertation].
  • Availability of recorded versions in case somebody misses a session.
  • Up to three sessions per week , each @2.5 hours, spread over 32-40 weeks, normally on Saturday afternoon [4 to 930pm] and Monday evening [6 to 830pm

EVALUATION::

MODULE- I: SPECIAL TOPICS IN GENERAL MANAGEMENT [19 sessions]:

  • Attendance in Live Digital classes – 15 %[ minimum 60% attendance needed to qualify for certification]
  • Class participation – 25% [ minimum 60% attendance needed to qualify for certification]
  • Term Paper – 2  number:  60 %

MODULE II: STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT [separate evaluation system for each of the 5 AREAS]

  • Attendance in Live Digital classes – 10 %[ minimum 60% attendance needed to qualify for certification]
  • Class participation – 15% [ minimum 60% CP  needed to qualify for certification]
  • Surprise Quiz: 15%
  • Term Paper [ 1 number]  : 15 %  - ALL COMPANY SPECIFIC
  • Group Presentation: 15%
  • End term examination: 30%  

MODULE III: CONTEMPORARY PRACTICE AND RESEARCH ISSUES IN STRATEGY, EXECUTION, INNOVATION, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND LEADERSHIP [one set of evaluation- all 5 components together]:

  • Attendance in Live Digital classes [20 sessions put together]  – 20 %
  • Class participation – 20%  [20 sessions put together]
  • Group Presentation  [all  sessions put together]: 30%
  • Comprehensive Examination: 30% [one examination for  all 20 sessions coming under the entire module]

MODULE IV: DISSERTATION

  • No grading [ as will be done  in the cases of first 3 Modules]
  • Only “ SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED” or not will be assigned

NOTE:

  1. All term Papers and also Dissertation must be real-life application specific and each participant will be expected to apply the concept and practices learnt during formal sessions as well as a part of the self - studies made outside formal sessions. Specifically, participants joining PGPMSL will be expected to write their term papers plus dissertation covering relevant issues relating to strategy and leadership challenges that are likely to be faced by them as future business leaders in their respective future business contexts.
  2. All Written Examinations will be [applicable for Module II and III only]:
    • Open book on-line examinations
    • Concept of question banks and interviews of a few  participants, randomly selected,  immediately after each examination
    • Re-examination to improve grades with conditions

GRADING:

  • A+, A, A-, B+,B,B-, C+, C, C- and F
  • CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) for all modules/ subjects PUT TOGETHER.
  • For dissertation, there will be only qualitative grading [ viz. whether ‘Successfully completed” or not]

ADMISSION PROCESS:

  • Profile as given under Target Group
  • Statement of Purpose stating intention to become a Future manager and/or an entrepreneur
  • Perspective and Aptitude Test [PAT]  for assessing [a] the  extent of sensitivity to general environment, [b] written communication skill and  [c] attitude and orientation towards achieving success
  • Personal interview  for assessing  intent to become  a future manager and/or an entrepreneur

CERTIFICATION

To be awarded POST GRADUATE PROGRAM IN STRATEGY, INNOVATION AND MANAGEMENT OF START UPS [PGPSIMS] by The Strategy Academy Centre for Advanced Studies [TSACAS], subject to meeting the following requirements:

  • Attendance and CP of 60% in the live digital classes
  • Successful completion of  all MODULES as per evaluation and grading system described above
  • CGPA: Minimum 4.0
  • Maximum 2 Fs
  • Submission and defence of Dissertation

NOTE:

  • It is an autonomous PROFESSIONAL certificate.
  • The Academy has a well documented policy that spells out the requirements of SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION.   Failure to meet all conditions will lead either to “INCOMPLETE” status [which can be converted to SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION certificate  on meeting the residual requirements within the stipulated time period allowed under the Academic policy]  or  “PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATE’ [applicable to those participants who could not even meet the requirements of “INCOMPLETE” status within the formal duration of the program].

  • USD 2000 [INR 82500/- + Service Tax]

HOW TO APPLY – Four key steps

  • Please write to ccg6@thestrategyacademy.org along with CV; the CV should have complete academic details and work experience and must also contain a  statement of purpose.
  • Have a telephonic discussion with the Communication and Counselling Group of the Academy on program details and whether  the profile of the applicant and his/her career aspirations match with the objectives of the program.
  • Complete the Perspective and Aptitude Test [PAT]
  • Personal discussion over telephone with the Academy’s Operations Management Group.
  • If the above steps are successfully completed, deposit the fees at least 14 days before the start of the FIRST session

NOTE: If an applicant wishes, he/she can attend a LIVE Digital demo session. Such a participation will help the applicant get a feel of the web conferencing platform. For this, he/she should speak to the Communication and Counselling Group of the Academy and discuss the date and time most convenient to him/her for attending the session.
